Australian Birds

We are blessed to have an extraordinary diversity of bird species in Australia. From the graceful glide of black swans on the waterways to the riotous colour and noise of parrots, the frenetic activity of wrens and pardelotes to the fragility of endangered shorebird species like the hooded plover, from the awesome power of large raptors to the comic antics of galahs and sulphur crested cockatoos, Australia’s birds are endlessly captivating and fascinating characters.

I've spent many hours quietly wandering through bush, waterways and coastlines looking for birds. While I don’t consider myself a ‘birder’ as such, I do love the challenge of capturing our stunning birdlife going about their business, whether in flight, feeding, preening or simply sitting on a branch.
